John believes he has an ulterior motive, but whether his motives were questionable, it should not be the case where the same umpire supervises every match of that player on the tour. It is very suspect. I witnessed first hand so many bad line calls, not just in this match but all of the ones I saw. I believe the linespeople should be under the age of 30, and have their eyes tested. Eyesight begins to fail after that, and even the umpires should also be young enough and have excellent vision, otherwise it makes a mockery out of the tournament. If the BlackRock organisers do not want to spend the hundred thousand pounds on a hawkeye system, then they should make sure ALL of the linespeople and umpires are young and have eye tests. Most of those linespeople were over the age of 50. It was a joke.Many of the calls John queried were out. In fact the umpire seemed to wait, and the audience were slow to clap when John's balls were on or near the line, because it was expected they were going to be called out.John has to come back, of course he now has to battle his way past the big champions such as Sampras, Edberg, and Ivanisevic on the singles tour, but I am sure he would enjoy playing in the doubles, Bring back Mac and Fleming. |
